SMART Targets

SMART Targets will help me structure this task effectively and ensure that I create this to the best of my ability.

S - specific: I aim to finish my ancillary research and final ancillary pice before I start my filming.

M- measurable:I plan to spend approximately 4 media lessons (double lessons) on my magazine ancillary task including research and completion.

A - achievable: I aim to achieve this by separating the tasks between me and my partner equally and have weekly meetings to keep track of development

R - realistic: I will set a goal for my partner and I to create our first draft of our ancillary tasks before easter.

T - time: Time management is key in this task and we are going to monitor our time through weekly meetings outside of our media lesson.

These targets will help me structure the tasks properly and also leave spare time just incase any corrections need to be made.

Initial Ideas

During our Media Studies lesson we were introduced to the film making section of the course. We read through the options that we could take for our coursework. The choices were:

  • A 5 minute short film or documentary
  • or a music video

Me and my partner Asher, decided to choose:

10. A short film in its entirety approximately 5 minutes, which may be live action or a combination of both together with the following three options:

  • A poster for the film
  • A radio triler for the film
  • A film magazine review page featuring the film

We also chose to do a magazine review and a radio trailer. This is because we thought it would be interesting to see the finished product and also to improve our Photoshop and Indesign skills.
